Sylvia also conducted workshops in Plano, Houston, Jacksonville, and Edinburg (Texas)
One conference trip involved the whole family: Las Vegas (where Sylvia received a lovely lifetime achievement award from the American Library Association)
And Sylvia had three books come out this year (two were in the works for a few years): The Poetry Friday Anthology for Science (with Janet Wong), Children's Literature in Action: A Librarian's Guide (2nd edition), and Poetry Aloud Here 2! Sharing Poetry with Children (2nd edition)
Russell continues to serve as pastor of First United Lutheran Church in Dallas. In addition, he kept the area's Parish Lay Ministry Academy rolling and went to Chicago for a related meeting, then later off to Milwaukee for the Lutheran Historical Conference meeting and to extend an invitation to them to come to Texas for their next gathering
Emily finished her coursework for a PhD in Library Science (Medical Librarianship) at the University of North Carolina. She is teaching at UNC and preparing for her dissertation.
Alex continues at Texas State University about midway through his MS in Applied Sociology, focusing on statistical research.
