Emily creates a sreen-accurate Star Wars costume. She will begin "trooping" -- attending local events such as movies, shows, hospital visits.

December

One day trip (and back) to Chapel Hill, NC (just for frequent flyer miles AND to see Emily and Brenda)

Russell and Sylvia celebrate Russell’s birthday in Las Vegas NV

And we have gathered the family once more for a wonderful Christmas celebrartion!

Sylvia has once again achieved a year of 100 movies -- thanks to the Variety Club Movie Pass promotion. This year we particularly liked Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Hell or High Water, Doctor Strange, Loving, Hacksaw Ridge, and La La Land.

Sylvia creates an "emoji" for our church sign for the forthcoming 500th year of the Reformation. We plan to share Luther quotes on the sign with the church neighborhood starting January 1.

A big wrinkle in our plans during the last week of the year -- Alex entered the hospital for pancreatitis. This is the second time in three years, so more testing will be needed to determine the root problem. In the meantime he (and Sylvia as nurse) were in the hospital for five days until the 31st. He has been at our house several days continuing his recovery.

Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year!
